This initiative helps to enhance transparency with suppliers and promote more responsible procurement practices, particularly with regard to the reuse of equipment and waste reduction across all of the Group’s subsidiaries.
Specifically, several initiatives illustrate this approach:
- In the United States, the Group prioritizes the purchase of refurbished PCs, thereby limiting the carbon footprint associated with the production of new equipment and promoting the circular economy.
- At the Dammam laboratory (Saudi Arabia), some of the equipment in the “mechanical lab” section consists of secondhand equipment that has been refurbished and reused, reducing resource consumption and the environmental impact of the facilities.
These initiatives demonstrate that sustainable practices can be applied on a daily basis, both in large-scale projects and in operational procurement.
We prioritize purchasing or renting refurbished products for our technical equipment and office furniture in our branches, which allows us to reduce our carbon footprint by a factor of three.
